Satellite images of the six cities that have IU campuses where the School of Public and Environmental Affairs offers degree programs. The images are color composites of images from bands 2, 3, and 4 from the Landsat Thematic Mapper sensor. Researcher's in SPEA are collaborating with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana State University, and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to complete the Indiana Gap Analysis Program (GAP), a geographic and remote sensing approach to planning for biological diversity. Landuse planners, scientists, and natural resource managers will use the GAP information to develop strategies to conserve Indiana's natural resources while accommodating the changing socioeconomic needs of the state's diverse communities.
