These scenes are from the Week of Caring sponsored by United Way of Monroe County, Community Service Council, and Bloomington Volunteer Network. Members of various organizations and businesses took time out of their day to help local social service agencies and other nonprofit organizations.

from the American Baptist Campus Ministries at Indiana University did general
cleanup at the Opportunity House. A member of the White River Central Labor
Council helped build a wheelchair ramp for the Middle Way House, a domestic
violence shelter and rape crisis center. United Way and Community Service
Council board members planted bulbs for residents at a local low-income
apartment complex. Employees from Old National Bank did yard work, painted,
and planted trees and bushes for the Campbell House, a shelter for homeless
families run by Shelter, Inc. Women with Will Triathlon Team members helped
catalogue the music collection of WFHB, Indianas only community radio
station. Students from Alpha Phi Omega, a co-educational service fraternity,
worked together on a thematic collage for the resident lounge of Beverly
Healthcare.
