AB: This collection of interviews with authors of children's literature is organized so that young people can use it with or without directions from the teacher. The collection can be used in two ways: to give a reader background and insight into the writing approaches taken by an author whose book is being read, or to make known new or unfamiliar writers. Each author in the collection has designed writing activities to accompany his or her profile, and it is hoped that the author's voice comes through in the activities. The 25 authors in the collection are: Avi, James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, Susan Cooper, Robert Cormier, Chris Crutcher, Paul Fleischman, Paula Fox, S. E. Hinton, Will Hobbs, M. E.
