The Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing has selected Dr. Charles Chancellor and Dr. Shu Cole to receive the Martin Oppermann Best Article of the Year 2008 Award. They recieved this honor for their article entitled “Using Geographic Information Systems to Visualize Travel Patterns and Market Research Data,” published in December 2008, Volume 25, issues three and four.
The Oppermann award recognizes the high quality and innovation of Drs. Chancellor’s and Cole’s work in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to highlight potential regional promotions and development partners in destination marketing. The Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing is ranked in the top five of among all major tourism & hospitality journals within the United States.
