College of Arts and Sciences CASE Intensive Writing

Please be advised that there has been a change in grading policy for College of Arts and Sciences CASE: Intensive Writing (IW) courses. Beginning in the summer of 2012 (for courses ending after June 15, 2012), students will receive only one letter grade for their enrollment in IW. Formerly, instructors entered a separate "Requirement Designation" of "S" for "Satisfy" or an "N" for "Not Satisfy" in the "Intsv Wrtg" field to indicate if a student had satisfied the "CASE: Intensive Writing" requirement. In the new system, a student earning any passing grade (from A through D-) will satisfy the CASE: Intensive Writing requirement. This change in grading practices for Intensive Writing is the direct result of a decision reached by the College Committee on Undergraduate Education.

Contact the College at 855-8245 for more information regarding the policy change, its rationale, or to ask any other questions you may have regarding CASE: Intensive Writing.
