Actions Taken in Response to 2004 Survey
We value your survey responses. Each year your judgments
help guide our plans and activities. Projects undertaken in response to the 2004
survey include:
- Upgraded telephone switch and moved to authorization codes for long distance calling management
- Public Email Stations were deployed at various locations around campus where students congregate, offering quick convenient access to student web-based E-mail
- Retired IT Department phone tree and adopted live response support model
- Redesigned IU Kokomo web site and leveraged IU Bloomington's Veritas and Steel systems to lower hardware and administration costs
- Simplified content management on the web by migrating departmental web managers to Macromedia Contribute software
- Published a campus telephone directory
- Converted three classrooms to 'hi-tech' rooms to meet the growing demand
- Upgraded campus network file storage and doubled user storage quotas
- Continued to upgrade faculty and staff desktop computers according to a three year lifecycle plan
- Continued to upgrade student technology computers according to a three year lifecycle plan
- Reviewed student tutoring/training opportunities and implemented consulting on an as-needed basis
- Implemented new print management system to track and account for printing costs across campus
- Created an Information Commons and increased the number of desktop systems in the Information Commons to support increase in demand from students
- Added an additional 2 hours (5pm to 7pm) of support for on-campus requests
