Actions Taken in Response to 2005 Survey
We value your survey responses. Each year your judgments
help guide our plans and activities. Projects undertaken in response to
the 2005 survey include:
- Increased the number of document cameras available for/in the classrooms
- Increased the frequency of the IT Newsletter to better communicate with campus users
- Designed an electronic bulletin board to facilitate better across-campus communications
- Increased the amount of Mac support training for IT staff
- Reacquired hosting of the IU South Bend web site to improve and increase our ability to respond to user needs
- Connected the campus to ILight, the fiber-optic network serving Indiana higher education
- Upgraded a substantial portion of the campus network infrastructure to increase speed and reliability
- Reworked 911 in the classrooms
- Upgraded the technology in the older tech classrooms
- Installing same instructional equipment in Elkhart as is available in the South Bend classrooms
- Installed additional 'Net Express workstations in areas of high student traffic
- Increased disk storage capacity and provided from-home access to campus network storage
- Increased voice mail storage
