This forum has a history of being fun and I hope you will join us for Linda Summers's now famous fruit salad and the opportunity to talk about the science of sex differences, social effects on development, and other issues related to Common Themes in Reproductive Diversity.

As in the past these will be scheduled for Wednesday mornings at 9 AM, but there is an exception, see Friday October 17 when we will meet with a visiting speaker with closely related interests, Joan Roughgarden. Also the November meeting is exceptional in that it will coincide with the Assessment team's visit.

Wednesday, September 10, 9 AM Michael Wade: "Sexually Antagonistic Selection"

Wednesday, October 15, 8:30 AM Peg McCarthy, University of Maryland, Baltimore: "Advances in the Study of Sexual Differentiation"

Friday, October 17, 9 AM Joan Roughgarden: "Thoughts on Science as a Way of Knowing...."

Wednesday, October 22, 9AM Jennifer Hackney: "Ecdysone Mediates a Global Injury Response in Drosophila"

Wednesday October 29, 9AM Kim Rosvall, Duke University: "Benefits and Costs of Aggression in Female Songbirds: integrating behavior and mechanism"

Wednesday, November 5, 9 AM Michael Muehlenbein: "Testostone-Mediated Trade-Offs"

Visit from Assessment Team: E. Adkins-Regan, G. Ball, R. Nelson, K. Wallen

Wednesday, December 3, 9 AM Peter Cherbas: "How the hormone ecdysone controls gene expression during Drosophila metamorphosis"
