Best Advice to New Cadets: "The Army and especially ROTC involves a lot of things that seem pointless and inefficient. If you have a bad attitude, you will have a bad time. If you keep a positive attitude, you will be able to find a purpose and value in everything you do, which will go a long way towards making your experience rewarding and enjoyable." |

I wanted to spend 4 years somewhere where I could feel like I belonged and so far every activity or event that I have been a part of has done just that. Army ROTC was something that interested me and I got the opportunity to view a lab session when I came on my college visit and decided to try it. I fell in love with what the Army did and like my 2 grandfathers have decided to serve our country. Best Advice to New Cadets: "Each person’s path is their own; do not allow anyone to tell you that the task is impossible. Excuses are unimportant; Excuses give us a reason to tell others why we are not good enough, strong enough, or willing enough to get a job done. The Army is not for everyone, but if you decided that, it is for you, embrace it, understand it, and treat it as you would anything else that is important to you. Embrace the camaraderie, challenge the physical, and exceed mentally, for there is not profession greater than the profession of arms, it now becomes your duty to honor that." |
