GROUPS students take 3 courses during the summer program, J111 or J010 (math), J101 (English Composition), and X153 (Critical Reading and Reasoning for the New College Student). X153, as designed by the Student Academic Center, introduces students to college reading and thinking, with an emphasis on critically reading and responding to a book assigned in a college freshman course. Most often each class section of X153 seats 15 ?20 students who engage in a wide variety of reading and discussion based activities centered on a single text. For more information contact Charles R.
