Eagle Historical Significance

After its launch in 1962, the ship was first named the Raila Dan and worked as a freighter. Over the course of a few years, the vessel was named Barok, Carmela, Ytai, Etai, and finally the Arron K. While called the Arron K., the vessel spent most of her time shipping cargo in the Caribbean. In 1985, the vessel was accidentally caught on fire, and from there was intended to be scuttled as an artificial reef. Just prior to sinking, she was renamed The Eagle Tire Co., and placed near Alligator Reef.
