Emerald Bay Miniature Fleet
In the cool waters of Emerald Bay are the remains
of several small wooden boats know as dories. This miniature fleet
was used for fishing and recreation from the late 1800s' to the early 1900s' by patrons
of the Emerald Bay Resort. The vessels lie in the waters of the Boat Camp on the opposite shore from the Historic Barges making
Emerald Bay's clear waters an excellent opportunity for sport divers
to experience the historic vessels of Lake Tahoe. Featured above is
one of the oldest dories found at the site, characterized by lapstrake
construction.
