In the reef flat zone of Molasses Reef, the fascinating marine biology
is diverse and abundant. In the photo to the left, a large and
relatively untouched brain coral grows on the remains of the metal mast
partner substrate.Other marine lifeforms, such as barracuda, grunts, trunk fish, eels, rays, sea fans, fire coral, and even nurse sharks (see the photo to the right) have been known to reside in the area.
