USS Spiegel Grove
Artificial Reef Project
This 510-foot vessel is the third to become part of the artificial
reef program off the coast of Key Largo, Florida. In a joint effort with
local charter boat operators, Indiana University has begun research to
produce a recreational diver map which will make navigation of this 12-deck
vessel a little easier to plan.
Launched in November 1955, the vessel has a long history of action
in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
