News from the Field: Day 9--Recreation Day!

After eight grueling days in the field, the group finally had a day off. Everyone chose a recreation option that suited their tastes. Leslie and Brandy took a kayak tour of Mono Lake; Curtis, Brian, Neal, Megan, and John S. took in some springtime skiing at Mammoth Mountain; John R., Michael, Laura, Tom, and Mariel took a hike to an alpine lake in the Muir Wilderness; Leah and Adam hiked to Convict Lake behind SNARL; and Caroline, Sarah, and Hilary took the 'cultural tour' of Mammoth Lakes (read 'shopping frenzy').
