Category 6b: Software Distribution Electronic Media

This category is for web applications or websites that contain software and instructions distributed by institutions to their students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Criteria

Judging will be based on:

  • access to the service is obvious and easy
  • well developed and cohesive set of services
  • effective screen layout
  • effective adaptation of language and content to Web medium
  • acceptable response time
  • conforms to default window sizes across platforms
  • page length appropriate to content
  • link names reflect title of target page
  • displays effectively in a range of browsers
  • effective use of feedback methods
  • effective use of animation
  • printability (if applicable)
  • incorporation of W3C (Web accessibility) guidelines
  • stated objectives (from entry form) are met. (Specified purpose, audience level, and so on...)
  • ease of installation
  • instructions
  • cohesive/consistent design of collaborative materials (e.g., instruction booklet, CD cover)
