Bradley A. Koch won a Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship from the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving at the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy.
J.D. Wolfe’s paper on “The Timing of Parenthood” earned honorable mention
from the Society for the Study of Social Problems, Division on Drinking and
Drugs.
Michael Thompson received the “Dare to Soar” Award from the Commissioner of
the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
evie perry won a two-year doctoral dissertation research grant from the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Christi M. Smith won research grants from the Oberlin College Archives, the
Social Science History Association (Rockefeller Travel Grant) and the Avery
Research Center for African American History.
Melissa Quintella and Deidre Redmond both won Minority Fellowships from the
American Sociological Association.
Kara Cebulko won a Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant from the National
Science Foundation.
Violet Yebei won the 2007 John H. Edwards Fellowship from Indiana
University, along with the Outstanding Graduate Social Science Award from
IU’s Women in Science Program.
David Blouin won a travel scholarship from the American Sociological
Association’s Section on teaching and Learning.
Rashawn Ray’s paper on “Getting Off and getting Intimate” was awarded first
prize the student paper competition sponsored by the Association of Black
Sociologists.
