Broadly, my academic interests are within the fields of sociology of children and youth, education, and social psychology. I examine the development of peer culture and identity within different cultural and structural environments. Specifically my research analyzes the unfolding of identity processes during periods of structural transition in the Finnish education system. My work explores the potential to integrate insights from the literature on children and youth with structural identity theory.
