Christine Chavez

Christine graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She began her graduate studies at Indiana University in the fall of 2004. Her research interests include sexuality, religion, gender, and violence. During the summer of 2005 she traveled to Brazil as a research assistant to the Anthropological Center for Training and Research on Global Environmental Change. Their research focused on Amazonian deforestation and the division of labor within Amazonian households. Her current research explores the impact of religious switching on sexual behavior and attitudes. In her spare time she loves to knit, read, and spend time with her dog Mima.
