Danielle Fettes

Danielle Fettes comes to IU from the metro-Atlanta area, where she lived and worked for five years after receiving her BA from Emory University. Having completed her MA and successfully navigated her coursework at IU, she looks quite forward to devoting her time to her research agenda - which is rather large. Broad research interests include childhood and adolescence, mental health, inequality and social policy. More specifically, projects include the investigation of the self-esteem of Indiana foster youth; the role of self-disclosure in the university classroom; intergenerational effects of poverty and mental health (and, hopefully, the related policy implications) and the social construction of the family.

Non-academic B'ton faves include: walks in the p-a-r-k with her pup, the IU outdoor pool, Oliver Winery on a beautiful fall afternoon, Collective Action football, reading on her porch in the morning sunshine and the village (Kirkwood).
