I graduated from Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and joined the graduate program in 2012. My research interests include a focus on stratification and inequality in relation to higher education, gender and sexuality, class, and race. I am also interested in political sociology and qualitative and quantitative research methods. My MA paper, currently in progress, addresses how educational mobility affects assortative mating, specifically whether individuals who are educationally mobile are as likely as those who are not to marry partners with similar educational credentials. My project will also address how these patterns have changed over the last forty years.
