From Poland to Chicago to Bloomington, Hubert Izienicki is a doctoral student in the Sociology Department at Indiana University. He received his B.A. in sociology from Loyola Chicago, and a master’s degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. His general interests include sexuality, immigration, and transnationalism. Specifically, he is interested in the sexuality as it is shaped by one’s immigrant experiences. His masters’ work explored some of these issues when examining the lives of Polish Immigrant Men Who Have Sex with Other Men. Currently, he is interested in nascent gay/lesbian movement in Poland as well as the sexual experiences of Poles who immigrate within Europe. In a time not directly engaged with his academic interest, Hubert enjoys traveling, reading, and dancing. He is also trying to find a way for purchasing a motorcycle without going in debt.
