Jason Smith

Jason is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He received his BA in Sociology and Political Science in 2007 from Kenyon College (a small liberal arts school in rural Ohio that he does not expect you to have heard of). Therefore, he is used to the Midwest, and actually thinks that Bloomington is a comparatively cool place. His sociological interests when entering the program were centered around deviance, sexuality, social psychology, and adolescence, but have recently expanded to include mental health and medicalization, culture, and gender roles. His interests will likely continue to expand until all hope of having a coherent line of research has been lost. In his free time, Jason enjoys baseball, movies, nights out with friends, any activity that distracts him from his work, and writing about himself in the third person.
