Kristin Jordan

I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Sociology in 2004. Before coming to Indiana University in 2006, I stayed at UCSB and worked in student affairs and residential life, where my research interests truly developed. These interests include education, stratification, inequality, culture, race, class, and gender. I’m especially interested in the inequality that exists in higher education and in the transition from high school to college. I completed my master’s in 2008, exploring the influence of cultural capital and college admissions preparations on college application behavior and destinations. I’ve taught both Introduction to Sociology and Education and Society. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time with friends.
