I joined the sociology Ph.D. program at Indiana University after completing a M.A. in Criminal Justice from the same university. As a former police officer in China, I am mostly interested in the intersections of law and society, with particular emphases on gendered aspects of legal processes and outcomes. My dissertation will examine marital grievances rural Chinese women tend to harbor, how they seek divorce through legal channels, and the needs and wants they experience throughout disputing process.
