Tait R. Medina

Tait R. Medina is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at Indiana University-Bloomington. Her research focuses on lay and professional conceptualizations of health, illness and healing; stigma and mental illness; medicalization; institutions (primarily, the institutional management of deviance); and statistical methods. Currently she is serving as research analyst on the Stigma in Global Context-Mental Health study, a National Institute of Health-funded project -- led by Bernice Pescosolido, Jack Martin, and J. Scott Long -- designed to study the etiology of the stigma of mental illness across 15 countries. Tait also teaches quantitative methods at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research Summer Program at the University of Michigan.
