Tom VanHeuvelen is interested in Political Sociology, Culture, and Stratification, broadly, and homelessness, community formation, and welfare states, more specifically. He also believes in Sociology's potential in enacting social change, and thus he is involved in Indiana University's Public Sociology program.
Tom VanHeuvelen was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Upon coming of age, he attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. There he majored in English Literature and Comparative Sociology. Tom enjoys courage, dignity, and the golden nuthatch.
