I graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BA in Sociology and Anthropology. Before coming to Indiana University, I worked at a non-profit where my research interests really developed. My master’s thesis, which I completed at IU, focuses on the differences in access to government support services for the urban and rural poor. My research interests include inequality, poverty, family, class, and gender. I enjoy teaching, and am currently teaching Sociology of the Family. I am pursing a minor in public policy at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA). In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, and traveling.
