Civil War Photographs Home Page: This site, part of the American
Memory/Library of Congress contains 1,118 photographs. Most of the images
were made under the supervision of Mathew B. Brady, and include scenes of
military personnel, preparations for battle, and battle after-effects.
Thecollection also includes portraits of both Confederate and Union
officers, and a selection of enlisted men.

on local history and primary sources with this page. As its title reveals,
the site concentrates on letters written home by a Civil War soldier. What
makes the site even more useful is that it also contains information on
how to get further Civil War information and how to make your own family
history available on the Web.

Abraham Lincoln Online- This site contains not only
information on Lincoln's speeches and writings, but a list of additional
historically related sites, resource information, and an interactive
mail-bag. Especially useful, the site provided weekly quizzes on the
subject of Abraham Lincoln. The site acts as a good reference source to
teachers and students than anything else.

Academy of American Poets- Here is an interdisciplinary
opportunity to facilitate a subject with which students sometimes have a
tough time. Use the Internet to heighten their interest! The Academy of
American Poets has created a superb site that includes a listening booth
where one can hear poems read by their authors, a variety of historic and
thematic exhibits, and a list of featured poets.
