Boling receives Gordon Faculty Award

Elizabeth Boling, professor of education and chair of instructional systems technology, was among those students, staff, faculty and community members honored at an April 20 ceremony for their contributions to the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington.

Boling has worked on the campus judicial board and on the hearing commission, serving as a Bloomington Faculty Council appointee. She also serves on the School of Education’s academic fairness committee.

Described by one of her nominators as being, “frighteningly well-organized,” Boling is known for responding immediately and completely when contacted for assistance with student needs, understanding issues thoroughly, and for working extremely hard. In hearing settings, she is calm but direct, communicating directly and honestly about behavioral expectations with students, even in the most difficult of situations.

“I feel very privileged to talk to students during what is often the most critical part of their lives,” Boling has said.
