Your Art Here, ArtsWeek and the SoFA Gallery are accepting proposals from artists and collaborative artist groups for Forgotten and Future Landscapes, a series of projects that will be presented in Bloomington, Indiana in February 2010.
Forgotten and Future Landscapes will feature billboard images that will address the theme of what the idea of landscape meant in the past and the possibility of what the landscape can potentially be in the future. Because the artwork will be displayed on billboards, two-dimensional media such as photography, painting, printmaking, graphic design, mixed media will be considered. Submissions that contain performance or interactive components will also be considered. Images should be in a horizontal or landscape format.
To apply, submit the following materials by e-mail to sofa@indiana.edu by December 1, 2009:
(1) One page proposal. Proposal must include: - artist name(s) and contact information - Description of image/project - materials to be used (if other than billboard print) - technical/logistical requirements (if any)
(2) 1-2 images of proposed project submitted in jpeg format. Images should be formatted to no larger than 72 dpi 5”x7”.
(3) Current resume of artist(s).
Submit applications by e-mail with “Landscapes” in the subject line to the SoFA Gallery (sofa@indiana.edu) by December 1, 2009. Questions about submissions can be sent to sofa@indiana.edu.
All proposals must be received by December 1, 2009. No late or incomplete applications will be reviewed or accepted. Selected artists will be notified by December 15, 2009.
This project funded by ArtsWeek. Coordinated by the IU Office of the Vice Provost for Research, ArtsWeek is an annual winter festival of the arts, with participation from the IU Bloomington and City of Bloomington communities. Over its 26-year history, ArtsWeek has extended artistic expression in startling new directions.
