The SOTL Program challenges faculty members to engage their intellectual curioisity, investigative skills, and genuine concern for student learning. The colloquium Teaching Responds to Terrorism examined 9/11 through such issues as “Responding to Crime in Society”; “Sport Terrorism, and Violence Intervention”; and “From Witchcraft to Terrorism.” Professors used scholarly and research-supported intellelctual tools to move students beyond simplistic ideas about terrorism.
