Our History:
|
Soulstice was founded in January of 1997 by Roland Donald Fisher, a recent graduate of Indiana University. Rollo had a vision of creating an a cappella group at IU for Christians, and sent out a mass-email to the various Christian organizations including Campus Crusade and Intervarsity. He recieved 50 replies, of those 12 showed up for the first ever rehersal where Rollo asked 'what was your favorite color of ice cream.' Those 12, Gracie Kramer, Ellie Veigel, Michelle Wood, Erika Grunnet, Jill Hazel, Katie Wilson, Dave Bickel, Kaz Kruzweski, Kevin Layton, Tom Bishop, Rollo Fisher and Mike Mackenzie, became this group known as Soulstice. None of use could've guessed how wonderful or important this group could become. By the end of the Spring Semester, Soulstice was well on its way. From Gospel Fest in 97 to Gospel Jam in 2000, Soulstice has traveled all across the midwest singing and touring in various towns and cities. The next spring after many rehersals and concerts we took on the challenge of recording our first CD, which is still available for purchase (nudge nudge wink wink) off of this website or through the group. Soulstice has grown since then up to 16 members and now currently 14 dedicated singers. We hope you enjoy this website and get to hear a joyful noise in our song, and above all Praise to the Lord Our God for creating such a wonderful group for all of us.
