Visiting Lecturer in Spanish (with PhD in hand by date of appointment)

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Indiana University invites applications for Visiting Lecturer positions for the 2013-14 academic year, beginning August 2013. These are one-year, 10-month appointments, with the possibility of one 1-year renewal, subject to institutional need and job performance. Responsibilities: teach three classes in Spanish per semester, usually at the advanced-second and third-year levels from among the following: Spanish Grammar in Context, Composition and Conversation, Introduction to Hispanic Literature, Introduction to Spanish Linguistics, Introduction to the Study of Hispanic Cultures, Introduction to Translation in Spanish, Panoramas of Hispanic Literature.
Qualifications: PhD in hand by date of appointment; evidence of teaching effectiveness; native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
Salary: $41,000 plus benefits.
