Rachel Di Pietro-James Scholarship Fund
Rachel Marie Di Pietro-James was a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Spanish with a strong interest in Argentina. She was also enthusiastic about theater, culinary arts, building friendships and working with children as a camp counselor. She spent a year in Buenos Aires with her family while in high school, and was planning to return to spend her junior year of college there through the Council on International Educational Exchange. She died tragically in a car accident in February 2008.
As a way to honor Rachel’s memory, the “Rachel Di Pietro-James Scholarship” in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese will be awarded annually to an undergraduate student who has been accepted into the Council on International Educational Exchange’s Study Abroad in Argentina Program.
All applicants to the program will be considered for the Rachel DiPietro-James Scholarship. Apply for the program and the scholarship through the Office of Overseas Study, Leo R. Dowling International Center.
This scholarship has been initiated by contributions from friends and family members. We ask you to consider honoring Rachel's memory by adding a contribution to this fund. Our fundraising effort seeks to continue into perpetuity the scholarship that CIEE has generously provided for the next ten years; we hope to enable others to experience something that Rachel loved.
