Sign up to be a volunteer at SPEA recruiting events in your area or to make phone calls to prospective students interested in your career field or academic major by creating a profile on SPEA Careers.

What does your office do for me?  Can you help me find a job?
Our office assists in connecting alumni with current SPEA students as well as with other SPEA alumni through the SPEAlumni  newsletter and networking events. For SPEA alumni graduating from the IUB campus, we work with SPEA Career Services to host events and to offer job mentoring, online job search resources and résumé critiques.

How can I search for other SPEA alums in my geographic area or career field?
For detailed instructions about using the online directories, go to the IU Online Directory or you can search for local chapters of the IU Alumni Association. These groups regularly host events that keep IU alumni connected through many different types of events.  You can also check directly for IUAA Chapter events by geographical area.

Yes, there are international alumni events.  To find out more, check out the IUAA’s International Alumni pages.

How does my alumni membership dollars support SPEA?
A substantial portion of your IUAA dues directly supports the SPEA Alumni Association Board of Directors, which serves to inspire and cultivate dynamic interactions among alumni, SPEA and students for the betterment of SPEA and the professions it serves.  The SPEA Alumni Board also sponsors an endowed scholarship that provides three $1,000 scholarships annually to current SPEA students.

How do I become a member of the SPEA Alumni Association Board of Directors?
Becoming a member of the SPEA Alumni Association Board of Directors requires being nominated by an existing board member. The nominations committee then reviews the nominees and makes recommendations to the Board for approval. This process usually takes place at the fall Board meeting. Space and availability on the Board is usually limited to two to three positions per year.
