Dear SPEA Alumni and Friends,

My primary goal as the assistant director of Alumni Relations and Development is to help you stay connected to each other and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. As SPEA alumni and friends, you are a very active and diverse group, with connections across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors, in disciplines ranging from public finance to environmental conservation and experiences in our local and global communities.

Take, for example, Jack Bobo, MSES'96, who wrote on food security for National Geographic. Or, civil service diplomat Melike Yetken, BSPA’04, who has traveled the world to work on human rights issues for the U.S. Department of State. Melike shares her experience and how she stays connected to other SPEA alumni.

Like Melike, many of you have had significant career experiences that have been enhanced by SPEA professors, classmates and alumni. I challenge you to think about your talents, your networks, and how they might assist the next generation of SPEA students in pursuit of their passions and career goals.

I'm looking forward to working together to create personal enrichment experiences and volunteer opportunities that are meaningful to you and SPEA. How can we deepen your involvement and better serve you as alumni? Please share your thoughts with me.

Hope to hear from you or meet you at an event soon!

Aliza Cazzell
Assistant Director of Alumni Relations
