Master of Arts in Arts Administration

The Masters of Arts in Arts Administration (MAAA) program is designed not only to give students the skills they need to manage in the creative sector, but also to foster the understanding that in the art world nothing is static, that technology and society and economy and art will shift in ways no one can predict, and that arts organizations need leaders who can develop and articulate vision and strategy, and navigate the changing currents while preserving core values. The MAAA program is a three-semester curriculum that allows students to complete the degree in a year and a half, and then begin careers in arts marketing, educational and community development, event planning, and fundraising. Our students develop the necessary skills to become successful arts administrator through interdisciplinary classroom learning from faculty and administrators across IU’s campus, as well we through hands-on experience by completing internship and practicum projects.
