Don't miss out on the biggest career trip of the year!

dc

Get ready for the annual SPEA Career Exploration Trip to Washington, D.C.! Since many SPEA alumni live and work in the DC area, this trip provides excellent educational and networking opportunities for current students to meet with and learn from DC professionals. In 2013, students had the opportunity to speak with 70+ different organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors through career panels, roundtables, & site visits. 90+ additional alumni and employer representatives were present at the networking meet-&-greet. In 2013, employers included U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), The Nature Conservancy, Grant Thornton, and the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) among many others.

There is no prorgam cost but students are responsible for their own travel, accommodations, and most meals.  The Career Development Office will negotiate a reduced rate at a nearby hotel for attending students.

Bloomington Technology Partnership - Career & Internship Fair

Tue, Nov 5, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Bloomington Technology Partnership (BTP) is presenting a career and internship fair for Bloomington and Monroe County employers looking to hire employees or interns in technology-related fields. The event is open to the public and will be held on November 5th, 2013 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center, located at 302 S College Avenue in Bloomington. The event is free to attend and light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Our inaugural career and internship fair earlier this year was an overwhelming success, and we are seeing increasing demand for more professionals in technology-related fields, said Katie Birge, director of the Bloomington Technology Partnership. By offering a space for companies to showcase their growth and open positions, we hope to help match top talent from around the region with quality tech employers.

The City of Bloomington will have information available about the developing Certified Technology Park, and the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing will have representatives and upcoming graduates present. For more information about technology companies in Bloomington, visit the BTP Company Profiles page here.
