Annually, the Career Development Office organizes its Chicago trip, which takes place before spring break. Since many SPEA alumni live and work in the Chicago area, this trip provides excellent educational and networking opportunities for current students to meet with, and learn from, Chicagoland professionals. In 2012, students had the opportunity to speak with 40+ different organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors through career panels & site visits. Additional alumni and employer representatives were present at the Thursday evening's keynote, reception, and networking event.  In 2012, employers included Standard & Poor's - S&P, the City of Chicago - Office of the Mayor & Department of Transportation, the EPA, and the Shedd Aquarium among many others.

Please note: trips are *FREE*; but students are responsible for their own travel, accommodations, and most meals.  The Career Development Office has negotiated a reduced rate of $112/night ($42/night for overnight parking; $10/day for day parking) at the Holiday Inn - Mart Plaza for attending students.  The deadline for that rate is 2/5/13.  Visit http://goo.gl/EOKjQ or call (312) 836-5000 and reference the code "EIU" to book your room.

Registration: login to SPEACareers.com and navigate to Events-->Workshops-->IU SPEA Chicago Career Exploration Trip (note: event is only visible if you have attended a callout meeting* - contact speacare@indiana.edu for more information/assistance)  - *(unless exemption given by the IU SPEA Career Development Office)
