Melodie is the Office Coordinator for the Career Development Office. She graduated in December 2010 from Indiana State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development. Prior to attending ISU, Melodie earned Associate degrees in Office Administration and Business Administration from Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington. She also worked for seven years at Ivy Tech where she mastered her office management and customer relations skills.
Melodie enjoys her role as the Career Development Office's Coordinator. It gives her the opportunity to assist SPEA students with their questions regarding career advising, internships and to use her customer service skills. It’s rewarding, as well, to watch students grow from their educational experience to their chosen career paths.
In her free time, Melodie volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Leader and Adult Advisor for a local Venture Crew for young people ages 14-20. She participates, with her 16 year old son, on high adventure trips that include hiking, backpacking, camping and traveling around Indiana and to other states.
Melodie greatly enjoys watching the kids learn about nature and high adventure activities, where they get the opportunity to gain leadership and teamwork skills, and survival in the wilderness.
