Dual Graduate Degrees
The School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) is well-known for its interdisciplinary approach to teaching, learning, and problem-solving. That interdisciplinary spirit is especially evident in our dual degree programs, which allow students to combine a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) or Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSES) with a second professional degree or area study.
These programs, which are offered through partnerships with other Indiana University schools and departments, build bridges between disciplines, broaden students’ skills, and create opportunities for dialogue within the university community and the world.
Some popular dual degree programs include:
MPA/MSES - SPEA's Signature Dual Degree
SPEA offers a one-of-a-kind dual master's program that provides both a Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSES) and Master of Public Affairs (MPA). This dual masters-degree program develops the advanced training of each individual master’s degree, while exploiting the interdisciplinary linkages in SPEA’s uniquely integrated program. The curriculum and research are distinguished by a vigorous interdisciplinary approach to education and problem-solving.
The outstanding professional success of SPEA’s dual-degree graduates is one reason SPEA’s environmental program has ranked #1 in the United States in the most recent U.S. News & World Report surveys. Recent graduates are now working in:
