Professional Interests
Lake and watershed management, especially diagnosing lake and watershed water quality problems; preparing management plans to address problems identified; stream ecology.

Current Projects

  • Director, Indiana Clean Lakes Program, in cooperation with Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) – a statewide lake assessment, monitoring, and public education/outreach program.
  • Invited member, Nutrient Technical Advisory Group to help IDEM develop nutrient criteria for Indiana waterbodies as required by the Federal Clean Water Act, 2007
  • Founding member, North American Lake Management Society (NALMS)
  • Editor, NALMS quarterly, LakeLine
  • Associate Editor, Lake and Reservoir Management
  • Governor-appointment, Indiana Lakes Management Work Group
