The Civic Leaders Center, launched in August 2013, is a living-learning center for freshmen who are interested in leadership, public policy, and making the world a better place.
This residential program, located in the Briscoe Residence Center in the northwest neighborhood, is designed to give first-year students a running start on their education at Indiana University. The Civic Leaders Center offers experiences usually only afforded to upperclassmen: smaller classes, access to influential leaders and special guest speakers, career and leadership training, and trips to places like Washington, D.C. and Athens, Greece.
The Civic Leaders Center makes a large, Big Ten university feel small. Students selected to participate in Civic Leaders live together, learn together, develop leadership skills necessary to make a difference together -- and gain lasting relationships in the process.
For more information about how Civic Leaders receive the resources and support they need to make the most of their time at IU, check out the following video.
