SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS
GIFT AND SPONSORED RESEARCH ACCEPTANCE AND DISCLOSURE POLICY
Revised 11/1/2010

This policy serves as a guide for those who make gifts or engage in sponsored research for the benefit of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) or who support the activities of SPEA as outside advisors assisting in the gift planning and sponsored research process.

SPEA’s policies and practices regarding gift acceptance and sponsored research are in accordance with those of Indiana University and the Indiana University Foundation. The University guidelines on sponsored research can be found at www.researchadmin.iu.edu and the Indiana University Foundation guidelines on gifts can be found at www.iufoundation.edu. For a copy of IU Foundation Gift Acceptance Policy, please go here: Gift Acceptance Policy (pdf).

In addition, it is SPEA’s policy to disclose the sources of external funding received from corporations, foundations, agencies, and other organizations. SPEA publishes annually a list of organizations that have provided support to SPEA in the form of gifts or sponsored research above $10,000, and is based on current and previous IU fiscal year (support received between July 1-June 30). The list may be found at http://indiana.edu/~spea/giving.

This policy has been developed by the Dean and Associate Deans in consultation with the Faculty and the Policy Committee of the School.
