Indiana University

Starting in Fall 2011, IU in DC will include the Health Policy Leadership Program, providing students with hands-on, practical experience in the complex and vital world of health care policy. Like WLP, the Health Policy Leadership Program includes both classroom instruction and a unique internship experience.

“Health care represents one of the most vexing problems facing all levels of government and the private sector. Students interested in working on some of the most pressing issues of the day will derive enormous value from learning more about how the health care system actually works, including the difficult task of implementing the most recent historic health care law” —  SPEA Executive Associate Dean David Reingold

Students in the inagural class of HPLP will intern at a variety of agencies and organizations that focus on health policy issues. To supplement that real-world experience, students will take two courses, tailored to their interests in health policy.
