IU SPEA Hosts National Energy Policy Conference
The Search for Wise Energy Policy is a forum offered by Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs (IU SPEA) on Thursday, June 11, in Washington, D.C.. The landscape for energy policy is rapidly changing under the leadership of the Obama administration. According to IU SPEA Dean John Graham, there is a rare opportunity now to be involved in laying the intellectual foundation for bold, effective new global energy policies that can sustain us well into the future.
"Although energy policy development is inherently complex and risky, this conference offers us the chance to identify and address key issues. I am pleased that IU SPEA has taken the initiative in fostering discussion of these critical issues," said Dean Graham. "We all understand the urgency of ‘getting it right". We have a rare opportunity now to be involved in laying the intellectual foundation for bold, effective new global energy policies that can sustain us well into the future,"
The Search for Wise Energy Policy will present four consecutive panel discussions, and an opportunity for participants to dialogue with experts from the academic world, the private sector and research institutes. Panels topics include:
- Energy policy drivers
- Changing patterns in energy supply
- Changing patterns in energy demand and use
- Climate policy.
