The SPEA Undergraduate Advising Office is pleased to assist students with their academic planning through scheduled appointment, walk-in hours, and special group advising sessions.  Our goal is to assist you throughout your undergraduate academic career and provide you with the necessary tools to successfully plan your scholastic experience.

Academic Advising is here to help you make the most of your undergraduate career.  You should see us if:

  • You want to plan your academic experience
  • You are thinking about studying abroad
  • You are experiencing academic difficulty
  • You want to apply for a SPEA minor or certificate
  • You need to discuss graduation requirements
  • You are considering changing your major
  • And, of course, if you have questions about scheduling courses

SPEA Undergraduate Academic Advising Options

Prospective Students: 

Pre-SPEA students meeting with an advisor for the first time should register for Pre-Admissions Advising.  Questions? Call 812-855-0635 or email speaugrd@indiana.edu.

Students interested in a basic overview of our majors and types of careers SPEA students pursue should sign up for a Discover SPEA session. Current students will be available to answer your questions and talk about their experiences.

Current Students:

Walk-in Advising : During the fall and spring semesters, we offer walk-in advising hours from 9-11 on Tuesdays, and 1-3 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We do not offer walk-in advising during the summer.

By Appointment : Call (812) 855-0635 to schedule an appointment.  Appointments available 9-4 Monday through Friday.

We regret that we cannot accomodate unscheduled phone-in or drop-in advising.
