Bachelor of Science in Public Health : Health Administration Major
Careers in health care include more than doctors, nurses, and other clinical professions. Healthcare administrators are needed to navigate complex issues of healthcare policy and practice. Health Administration students develop organizational, managerial, and leadership skills to prepare them to take roles in public, private, or nonprofit sectors of healthcare policy and planning.
Is this a pre-med major?
Health Administration is a major intended for individuals who want to learn about healthcare policy and administration. IU doesn't have a specific pre-med major, though specific coursework is generally required by most medical programs. Any student interested in pursuing a career in medicine or any health field is encouraged to work with the Health Professions and Pre-Law Center to develop a plan for undergraduate coursework and post-graduation plans.
