SPEA Alumni Association Scholarships
The School of Public & Environmental Affairs (SPEA) Alumni Association is proud to sponsor $1,000 scholarships for current SPEA students. The scholarships will be awarded to an undergraduate and graduate students, from any IU campus, who meets the following qualifications:
- Current SPEA student, to complete your final year of school in the academic year 2012-2013. OR a SPEA student currently enrolled in the Accelerated Program, to complete your final year of undergraduate course requirements in the academic year 2012-2013. *If SPEA student does not graduate within the academic year (September-May) they will not be eligible for scholarship funds. Money will be transferred to bursar account at the beginning of fall semester 2012.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0, a transcript must be provided to show proof of academic status. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted, but will be verified for accuracy.
- Completion of a 1-2 page essay on why you should be awarded this scholarship. Highlight your merits/achievements, including academic success, public and community service, and extracurricular activities.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a SPEA faculty member or a community leader. The letter should be addressed to the SPEA Alumni Association Board of Directors.

All materials will be reviewed by the SPEA Alumni Association Scholarship Committee. The award winners as well as those who were not selected will be notified in February via a letter from the SPEA Alumni Association Board President.
